"Watch it! I am still a human, you don't have to force me to walk." The bird boy complained as the guards who had tried to sedate him dragged him to his new room. "I'm not going to run away. Too many of you guys here to begin with."

As if the guards saw his point, they left go of his arm that were behind his back and pushed him down the hall with the palm of their hands. "This is no better than the last arrangement. Just lead the way and I will hold one of your hands so you know I ain't leaving." He joked as they pushed him through a door. The man ended up on the floor as they shut the door behind him and locked the door.

"Geez... if they treat their guests this way, I hope they never decide to make this a hospital." He scoffed and stood on his feet to see a girl sitting at a wooden table with a book in her hands. "Um... Hey there. It looks like I am your new roommate. Hope you don't mind me crashing here for awhile."

Sarpe seemed uncaring of the explicit content in her choice of reading material, holding a completely straight face until she marked her page and placed it on her pillow. Only now did a tiny smile breech her lips as she remembered how she obtined the explicit manga.

The kid had been bragging too much about some contact or other that could get him what he wanted as long as he stayed put so she took it upon herself to make the bastard suffer. she had approached and, for all of his male posturing, floored the guy with a single punch to the side of the head and casually took the manga from him and walked away. Those men seemed to be scared of her casual demeanour and were likely still scared of her even now.

It took a few minutes before she finally spoke to the new arrival in her room, "Keep off my ssstuff... and I'll keep off yoursss. Sssimple asss," she hissed as she moved to a standing position and stretched boredly, "Don't sssee why people find that ssstuff appalling for the casssual market either," she added before yawning.

"Ssso who're you and why did they lump me with putting up with you?"

Crow
The boy raised an eyebrow at the girl. Quite the attitude for a girl her size he thought. "The name's Crow. And yours? All I know before the pushed me here is I was moved so I could meet someone like me. Apparently, I was lonely soul with no one to talk to all day long." He mused, a smirk on his face as he moved toward the table and leaned his hand on it.

He looked at the book and chuckled quietly to himself. "How'd you end up with that? I've been here quite awhile and no one brought me any books. You must have some leak around here, huh?" He teased.

"So, since I am here because you are somehow similar to me. What's your power? Are you human by day and wolf by night or something? Or... some type of snake creature by the sound of your lisp? I won't judge." He grinned and stood up straight to wait for an answer.

"Ssshut up!" Sarpe suddenly snapped at the boy's excessive waffling, "Isssisss above..." The fanged woman hadn't realized that in her snapping her fangs had unfolded from inside her mouth and now sat proud and visible in front of her lower jaw. She pasued to get them back into her mouth before continueing, "The desssert knows the value of sssilencsse,"

"I am called Sssarpe," she added wight a slightly haughty air as she relaxed back onto her bed with a sigh, "and the book? Ssspoilsss of putting sssome idiot man in hisss placsse. Claimed he could get anything he desssiresss if he ssstayed put." She spat onto the floor, "Sssedimentary fool."

Finally she shifted so that the boy could see her front and pulled the pendant aside, pulling down part of the shirst she wore to reveal her tattoo in full, "Look don't touch, Crow. Maybe Sssight of it will tell you what I will become." she stated bluntly before letting the cloth snap back and rolled over on the bed, placing the book under it and sighing as she pulled herself under the covers and curled up a little, yawning audible despite a lack of fatigue.

"Isssisss above..." she hissed to herself, "Ssso boring here..."

Crow
Seeing the snake on her chest was proof enough of what she was becoming. "So... snake creature. Co-" He stopped as she rolled to view the wall. "Well, all right then. I understand. New guy needs to keep his mouth shut and let the chick do what she wants." He mused and looked around, seeing only one bed.

Fantastic... a night on the floor. Sounds like fun... He looked to the girl and walked to the other end of the room opposite of her. "Hey, uh, any chance you could spare a blanket? I don't think they realize one bed isn't going to cut it." He commented.

He continued a quick search around the room, staying away from certain items he was sure were Sarpe. He might be the smartest guy in the facility, but he knew better than to mess with a woman's stuff.

Sarpe rolled her eyes, "Why not go to another room, beat the resssident sssenssslesss and sssteal their blanketsss?" Sarpe asked with an odd smirk on her face, "It'sss what i did, Crow." She turned to lay on her back, "Unlesss you're Crow by name only and are, inssstead, a woodpecker." she added. She was intenting to see how far the boy's mental borders were on the matter.

She shrugged, "If you really want a blanket from me... beat me up for it. It'sss the way I operate," as she finished her words her fangs once more flicked down and laid outside her mouth, but she let them stay there, "I wonder if the Ssstaff here have finished concoting an antidote for my venom?" She mused aloud, sounding doubtful yet amused, "It just wouldn't do for one of them to... Acccidentally punctue their ssskin on them. Might be... Disssasssterousss for their heath," She grinned at this thought, "Venom brings in a rather... slow but severe case of... dead. Just like the desssert."

Crow
The bird brain stepped towards the side of the bed and smirked. "Venomous attitude and fangs? You just keep getting more and more dangerous, don't you?" He chuckled and turned toward the table to sit in the chair. "I am not in great need of a blanket. I have been here for quite awhile, my sweet."

He stood up and crossed his arms, leaning to one side. "Thanks for the offer though. If I find the floor is too tough, I will most likely take you up on that offer during the night." He winked and walked to the corner.

As he did so, feathers sprouted from his skin and his face elongated into a beak. His arms morphed and his spine shrunk. His skin turned black and his feet split into three twigs. Crow was soon exactly what his name suggested, a crow.

He cawed loudly and opened his wings before kneeling down and bringing his wings back in. His eyes were watchful of the snake girl, paranoid by his natural instinct to get out of the room as fast as possible before he was eaten. If only he knew what his other "form" was. Maybe it would be able to best a snake and he might get a decent amount of sleep.

Sarpe had already lost interest in the boy's words, having carefuly removed the pendant from her neck and examined it with a look of reminiscence on her face. Reteacting her fangs she shifted herself on her bed to a kneeling, placing the scarab just beyond her knees, and closed her eyes.

She began to the chant under her breath, her right hand still clasped over the pendant. Mention of various deities sounded throughout the chat. As had been custom for her recently, she repeated the chat twice over. When her eyes opened she pulled herself off the bed, leaving the scarab there for now and stepped closer to the door. "Ma'at would be assshamed of thessse people," She finally hissed, "I need to get out of this place sssoon..."

Crow
The Next Morning
Over the course of the night, Crow drifted in and out of sleep, paranoid by his bird brain mind that the snake girl would eat him. Poor thing couldn't even get more than two hours of his light drifts.

During one of his dozes, two people in white coats walked in and set a four foot tall perch on one side of the room and left without a word. He woke to the sight and screeched loudly as he flew up to the horizontal bar. His screeching grew louder while he used his talons to stomp on the perch angrily.

When that failed to give any positive feedback, he swooped down to the floor and shed his feathers for olive colored skin. His talons turned to hands and his beak faded into a nose and a mouth. As he morphed, his form was crouched low to the ground and when he finished, he stood up with haste and grabbed the perch with his hands.

"You got to be kidding me!? I might be able to turn into a bird, but I am human!" He yelled. He stomped to the door, forgetting he had a roommate now, and slammed his fist against the door. "You idiots! I'm human! Get me a freaking bed!" He yelled.

Sarpe's eyes shot open. The noise of the boy's antics had disturbed her rest so thoughoughly that she swiftly extracated herself from the bed and, with a disapproving frown, say only one thing, "Calm down," Her words dripped with her annoyance at being awoken in this manner, only now did her eyes spot the cause.

She lited the perch off the ground and growled under her breath, "What the fuck? They give a human this for a bed?" She suddely swung out with it, aiming to snap it against he wall, "Useless adults!" She stated, dropping what was left of the perch before sighing and sitting back on the bed, throwing a blanket at Crow, "Here. Don't freeze for the rest of the night." She stated as she did so, laying back on her bed and staring at the ceiling.

She was sure that there was no more sleep for her this night.

Crow
The bird boy blinked twice before the blanket floated back to earth at his feet. He leaned his back against the door and slid down to sit with his legs up to his chest.

"Thanks, Serpent girl. To think I thought you were a cold blooded killer." He smirked, knowing he might hit a nerve if he went too far. He preferred to be breathing and healthy instead of poisoned and dead. Crow pulled the blanket to him and flung it over his shoulders. "Guess you aren't that bad after all."

He stood up back up and moved to a corner of the room on the opposite of from where Sarpe lied in her bed. He was careful of the wood perch pieces that were strewn across the floor as he slunk back down and stared at the only bed in the room. "Sleep tight, snake." He said, feeling his rage for the scientists boiling too much for him to find peace in sleep.

"I doubt I'll be sssleeping," Sarpe muttered, reaching under her bed to continue reading the book she stowed there and stifling another yawn. Her face was, oddly, a bit red wile she was reading it this time which was not from her own anger and she sighed as she returned the book to it's place under the bed and sat up again.

"I... Need to get out of this placsse sssoon. Ssso boring and ssshacklng." She finally stated, gettting out of bed and starting to pace, "Too many guardsss to dal with alone. I lack the venom." She paused in her pacing and closed her eyes.
